At Noorderlicht people gather around the table in the middle of the NDSM wharf, with the IJ in front of them and the city across the water. For a lunch in the sun, a quiet dinner for two, a table full of friends, or a family that lingers a little longer after an afternoon outside.

Our kitchen follows the seasons and the energy of the place. We cook with pure ingredients, plenty of vegetables and products whose origin we know and understand. Health plays an important role in this, without becoming heavy or complicated. Food should have flavour, feel good, and give you energy for the rest of the evening.

The menu remains accessible and changes with the seasons. You can join us for an à la carte lunch or dinner, share dishes at the table, or simply stay a little longer with a good glass and something to eat. We cook with care and consciously choose non-industrial meat and fish.

For larger gatherings we offer different ways of dining together: a shared group menu at the table, buffets, walking dinners or a barbecue on the terrace. We can host groups of up to around one hundred people without losing the personal atmosphere.

Over the past twenty years Noorderlicht has received several distinctions for its sustainable kitchen and way of working, including multiple Gaia Green Awards in the Benelux.

Eating at Noorderlicht is part of the place itself: a place where music, art, children, conversations and the view over the water come together.
