Wilder  Land

You may be surprised to learn that almost all herbal teas offered and sold in shops and restaurants are sourced from abroad, with the most significant proportion coming from outside Europe. However, chances are that the herbs and botanicals that make up your favourite tea could be grown right here in the Netherlands. Not only would producing the tea from home soil save thousands of kilometres in transport costs, but the benefits for enhancing Dutch nature are exponential.

Well, the founders of Wilder Lands, during their search for ways to stimulate Dutch biodiversity, recognised the multifaceted opportunities that lie in producing our tea at home. A win-win situation!

Wilder Land is a company that works alongside Dutch farmers here in the Netherlands to help improve biodiversity. They achieve this by encouraging farmers to sow the herbs of our favourite teas on their land, from which they are able then to make delicious teas. The concept is to plant herbs that are naturally found within the Dutch landscape. In doing so, these native species of herb provide the natural habitat for wildlife to flourish. So, the more herbs planted, the more the bees, butterflies and birds will return to the Netherlands. In supporting our wildlife, we also benefit; chamomile, nettle, plantain, dandelion, yarrow, cornflower and many more are all herbs with unique health benefits that taste fantastic.

Wilder Land wants to provide you with a high-quality product that is responsibly sourced and aids in restoring our nature. We at Noorderlicht support this message.
